How to care for Templeton

It is imperative you keep Templeton in exceptional health.  Consider him a member of your team.

Handling – Please hold and carry Templeton gently.  If you squeeze too hard, he may get angry and try to bite you.  Don’t worry, he doesn’t have rabies.  Be very careful about picking him up by the tail – it can break off if you are not gentle.  Templeton enjoyed sitting on Shelby’s shoulder and crawling back and forth across the back of his neck.

Temperature – Templeton is very sensitive to temperature.  Please keep him in a shady spot but not too cold.  Do not leave him in the sun in your vehicle.  If you’re uncomfortable, he is too.

Housing – Please keep templeton in a well ventilated, not too confined spot.  Also, please keep his housing clean.  Like you, he needs to poop and pee on occasion, but he doesn’t enjoy living in it.

Food/water – It is important to keep Templeton well feed and hydrated.  He likes to eat typical rat food.
